well something that has been on my "condo to-do list" for quite some time...but wasn't urgent was to get a microhood installed. say goodbye old countertop micro and hello countertop space, etc.
i got the appliance at this amazing appliance store called ABT Eletronics. i didn't know they were having a huge sale when i went there today w/ every intention of just buying this damn thing, etc...so i got 12% off the item!! (but the install is still costing me almost as much at the microwave...but well worth it considering they have to completely install an outlet and the microwave=not a one-woman job).
while i was there there i also checked out this high end vacuum line, MIELE i've been eyeing..unfortuntely THOSE were not on sale!? (i would venture to say...probably never are). well, they have this really great "allergen reducer" vacuum that so many people swear by...whenever i know i'm doing some serious cleaning at home--i have to pop an allegra or i'm doomed...itchy eyes, sneezy, etc. not anymore!!! i bought myself one!! if you're ever here--ask me to demonstrate this amazing machine!(and it's a pretty cool light blue too!). it comes w/ 4 yr warranty at the appliance store-but a 7 yr warranty on the motor from the maker.
yep-i'm officially growed up...microhood AND vacuum purchases today. and let's just say--the vacuum cost more than the microwave w/ installment!?! well, my leftovers will be hot and my place will be clean. not too shabby.
