i just came across this handy website and phone # with some items in my digital camera box from over a year ago. there was this site and a 1-800 # listed and a sticker w/ an ID #. i afixed the sticker to my camera and registered this online. so all that is on little sticker is:

i registered a few other of my items on here too and just made stickers for them(you can order more online fyi).
thought this seems pretty handy and wouldn't hurt considering how many things we are juggling these days. and i would say if i found an item like a cell phone, ipod, blackberry, digital camera--with this info...i would try and contact the person.
the site only lets you put in the id # if you are reporting a found item--and then they will contact me...
figured i'd pass it along in case anyone else wants to use it.
