griffin & comrades

so had a nettwerk artist: griffin house come to perform here in chicago for the EMI regional sales meetings for about 30 people. very nice singer/songwriter release that we just put out last month. he's a young guy (around 24) and has been traveling for the past several months supporting his record (bless him). just played a few songs acoustically for everyone before their dinner and then he was back on the road heading to dayton, oh.
was nice to see many old friends and familar faces tonight. i have known many of these people for 5+ yrs...so is always nice to see some familar & friendly faces. also saw my old boss from virgin records: BJ. he was in town for these meetings as he has been doing some consultant work for one of EMI's smaller labels. We had a chance to sit down and catch up a bit. that was nice. i miss him and the great sales staff i worked with at virgin. i honestly can't imagine ever experiencing that true comradeship in the workplace. we were such a team and i was so proud to be a part of it. well, i am glad i have that experience and know these people and i will forever take what i have learned and go forward and try to apply that to whatever i do in my life.
