atlanta, ga (the peachtree state)
traveled to atlanta this week to attend the emi holiday party and regional meetings. was nice to meet some of the reps i've never met and see some familiar faces from the "good ole days" of emi when we used to have yearly conventions.
of course traveling for work always seems to have more grievances than when you are traveling for a vacation...
1. my co-workers flight was delayed about 5 hours out of Newark. so "hung out" on concourse C waiting for her to arrive.
2. we were cutting it close to the wire for the party that evening so i changed into my "party attire" at the airport (oh la la). so did my coworker when she arrived.
3. upon late check-in at our overbooked hotel (which i had called to confirm we had late check in while i was at the airport)...we were given a king sized bed w/ a pull-out bed, when we were supposed to be given a double AND...it was a SMOKING ROOM!!! ARGH!!! pitched a little fit that night and am when we checked out...the sales lady was very apologetic and gave me and my coworker some gift baskets.
when i got back thurs eve...called my friend larry and he was just about to call me too...we both agreed we were in the "mood" for a Moody's Pub burger and beers! great dark pub that in the summer has a fabulous outdoor patio. and in the winter is so dark inside, you swear you are going to trip over something!
