my life is a soundtrack

memorabilia

went home this past weekend for my sister karen's baby shower. but also had another task at hand. i had to go through some of the remaining boxes of "memorablia" (aka duran duran scrapbooks/posters/books, yearbooks, misc photos, child art, stuffed animals, old notes, collectibles, cds, videos, vinyl, 45's...)at my parents house and whatever was a "keeper" i had to move into the crawl space at their new home.

i must say i got straight to work and diligently filtered through alot of stuff and weeded out some junk. really only had about one carload to take over.

but i felt like the weekend i was just up and down, up and down steps. was even helping my mom get some old toys and childhood books down outta the attic. ended up accidently slipped on the ladder and all the barbie shoes, dolls, clothes, etc scattered on the floor below. i said: "well, i guess i'll just sort through it right here!?" also brought down all the old childhood books we enjoyed reading growing up. it's crazy how the pictures just trigger that memory of that fascination you had staring at them. so vivid. reminded me of how important children's books are...not matter what is in it.

am glad that is done though. was dreading that project.
