road not taken

been another one of those weeks in the music industry. due to the merge & purge, i have several friends being layed off. so frustrating to see such great, dedicated, passionate people leaving. but these days it's hard to stay dedicated and passionate too.

this is an industry i got into 10 years ago and do not have any regrets..it's been a "wild" ride...but it's not what it used to be. and that...has worn me out.

but i am so fortunate to have met so many people who i am proud to call my friends. this career has definitely introduced me to some truly great friends. and with my layoff almost 3 years(!??) ago...i know the true friends do stay in your life. the ones that really meant something..will continue to do so.

and also, i have seen many friends move on & up from these "restructurings"...and that's what i wish for all my dear friends that are about to face that path

"i shall be telling this with a sigh
somewhere ages and ages hence;
two roads diverged in a wood, and i-
i took the one less traveled by,
and that has made all the difference"
- r. frost (The Road Not Taken)

**by the way..i wrote this poem in my journal in may of '95- the year i started in the music biz?!?! how tried and true it's remained to me to this very day.
