lolla DAY TWO...hotter than Hell and beyond...
OMG!!! had no idea...but i will never forget that "FEELS LIKE" 115 HEAT INDEX!!
i got there around 2pm to try and catch some of KASABIAN. by the time i walked across the field to meet up w. my friend randy...it was just unbearable. you couldn't even focus on watching the show (can't even imagine what it woudl be like to perform!??). i even was so old-lady like and had my umbrella up to shield me. randy and i headed into the shade to have some food and drink. met up w/ my friends lloyd/mike again...i opted to go visit my friend nearby to get out of the heat and come back around 5:30. took a cab to her place and we went to a nearby mall and sat and ate subway in the nice cool air. so needed that.
got back around 5:30...("99 bottles of water on the wall...")and then met up w/ lloyd and mike and they had just scored Day Two VIP passes...so got back there and we all were in awe of how hot it still was at 6PM!? took advantage of the free SMART water...i must have drank 5 bottles just that evening. listend to some of ARCADE FIRE...sounded good. Lloyd and i crossed the field to check out SPOON. again, it was still so hot (and this was at 6:30pm)...we went and found a shaded area and sat down and just listened. after that we headed back to VIP area to see THE KILLERS. they were worth the wait. sounded great and so much fun. we were all into it. had to miss THE DANDY WARHOLS on the other stage. but i've seen them and they are either good or really bad. after that DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE took the other stage and we rolled out.
all i wanted to do was 1. get home. 2. shower and 3. BLAST my AC!!...see next post.
