burning the midnight oil
sorry i haven't been too good at updating...things have been quite hectic the past few weeks...but here's the CLIFF'S NOTES version
-PHIL/LONDON UPDATE: going to london 2nd week of October to see Phil. 2 more weeks!!! he'll be here at the end of November. we'll go to cleveland for thanksgiving weekend ("MEET THE FAMILY") and i'm going to LONDON for Christmas and New Year's and we'll take it from there.
-WORK UPDATE: work has been insane. i can't remember working so hard and juggling so much. i embrace the challenge, but some day's it's really rough to walk a straight line. we're a new company and we've really been going thru a growing spurt the past 2 mths more so than the previous months. i am getting great feedback from my coworkers and managers. i even got a raise too!! not bad!! been making my #'s too--so getting a bonus check is nice. but the light at the end of the tunnel is that only 2 more new release books to set up in the thick of is all since this is our busiest season.
MANNHEIM STEAMROLLER: went to Omaha, NE the other week w/ other sales managers from work and we were "wooed" by the folks at the label American Gramaphone where Chip Davis from Mannheim Steamroller hangs his musical cap. we spent 12 hours w/ these people. they did presentations about their company-past, present and future. afterwards we went to Chip's Ranch where he hosted a BBQ. he personally showed us the grounds by driving us around on his golf cart. he cooked some killer filet's and shrimp/bacon. and fired up a bon fire in the middle of the woods w/ his halloween music cd playing in the background where he brought us in groups of 5 and kept us in the dark woods until he launched the fire. and it ain't over...he later took us on his front lawn(Field?) and while his "patriotic" cd was playing he had a fireworks display for all 20 or so of us!? got to see his personal home studio, pick up a grammy...it was pretty trippy. i don't know what to say...i feel like i was a bit brainwashed by chips' electrical powers, but he has built a name and following for himself. but also see the business aspect over everything he's doing and he's a pretty nice guy. http://www.mannheimsteamroller.com/index2.html
