death cab for cutie
went and saw them tonite at the riveria w/ my friend mike from WEA. we saw them in august at an outdoor festival/block party show. was a great show--but there was a weird vibe tonite (actually no vibe) coming from the crowd at the beginning of the show. but the pace picked up and so did the crowd.
the lead singer from death cab-ben gibbard was part of The Postal Service. one of my favorite records of last year.
just heard death cab signed to atlantic records. when we were at the show in august we heard that some atlantic records "big whigs" were there looking to sign them (and we saw them too). guess that aftershow schmoozing paid off for all.
was an early show and was over by 10--so we headed to get some food in nearby andersonville at Calo's. (after being snubbed but some very rude people who cut in line at the Hopleaf and sat down at a table when we were next and then told it would be about a 20 minute wait...so we headed down the street!?..RUUUUDDDEE!)
