emi special markets
so a good industry friend, Leslie, who i've know since i was an ADR in Cleveland (and she was an ADR in NYC) was in town this week for a convention. she works for emi special markets now and always treats me to a nice dinner out on the town when she is visiting. it's always good to see her and i'm glad we've stayed in touch. she's got that jersey girl to her that's so great. we had a nice dinner at Gibson's Steak House (prob one of my FAV places to go in Chicago!?). just really feel like it's a true chicago restaurant...the people, the drinks, the service, the food. delicious! Leslie and i were roommates one year in Austin at a SXSW convention and we had a blast!
earlier that day, leslie got me a badge for the trade show at mccormick place. i went w/ a co-worker kelly. it was a bit overwhelming...sensory overload kinda thing. it was geared towards company's that want you to buy their products or packages for employee rewards and incentives. there was a huge section geared towards resorts/travel...can't even imagine being treated to something like that. maybe someday?!? although i have been very lucky to travel around the US (and Canada) compliments of EMI/Nettwerk and see some great places and meet some great people along the way.
