reunited...

first the morning started off with going to see my 10 year old nephew pitch 2 innings in his baseball league...what a little superstar he is. this kid has loved to just play ball since he could sit up. so it's not surprising how well he is doing in other sports: soccer, golf...and he's doing great in school by making honors lists, etc. he makes his aunt very proud. *(he'll actually be 11 next week...yikes!?)

met up w/ my dear friend from college tia that afternoon. got to see her new home in ohio city and meet her sweet dog Otis. we went and had lunch (and some beers of course...it is tia after all...my old college drinking buddy!?) at great lakes brewing company. whisked through the flats and dntn cleveland in my dads convertable...just like thelma and louise! wow, that girl and i had alot of fun together in college. i am glad we are back in touch and it's been over 5 years since i've seen her. she just moved back to cleveland earlier this year from atlanta unfortunately in response to her mother's cancer and very sadly passing away. i wish tia all the best and know she's going through a rough time...but she's working through this the best she can and i know she'll be ok.

speaking of reunions....went to my 15 Year High School reunion!!!

was so trippy walking into this crowded room(bar) with almost 100 familiar faces that you haven't seen or really even thought about in the past 15 years!? it was actually alot of fun and there were a few girlfriends i was really happy to reconnect with...since i went to the same school for K - 12...i've known many of these people for as long as i can remember. hopefully the ones i have reconnected with will stay connected.

a true friendship is one that can withstand the test of time, pick up on the page you left off on, be able to forgive (and eventually forget), trust, and unassuming. life is too short for the drama over the littlest things...

there are 2 friends that weren't there but actually live in chicago and according the the roster i got...they both live about 10 blocks away! going to reach out to them and see what happens. might be nice to reconnect with them. i actually went to the one person's wedding a few years ago here in chicago (as a guest of someone else who was invited.)

oh yeah... a few notes:
-my high school (freshman year "crush") has aged quite a bit (loss of hair, weight)
-our high school homecoming queen was telling everyone the same thing throughout the night: "i missed you, it's so good to see you" (Even to people she barely knew in HS)
-and the "witches" from our class...are well, just that.
